In the meantime, you can bag yourself a complementary copy of Wargame: Red Dragon, an RTS favourite from developer Eugen Systems. There’s plenty of ways to improve it and put more colony control in the hands of the player, but the first landing is already off to a great start. Though Surviving Mars makes a game out of it, Haemimont have brilliantly kept that hard edge, as it constantly pushes and tests your ability to plan with survival in mind, especially with the unpredictability of the Mysteries of Mars. If we ever try to colonise our red neighbour, it’s going to be one of the greatest challenges that mankind will ever undertake. Here’s what Stefan had to say when Surviving Mars originally launched back in 2018: Surviving Mars is a great freebie for Epic, scoring a brilliant 8 out of 10 in our review (make sure you check out our video review above). Every week, the Epic Games Store hosts at least one free game that users can keep forever, available to download and play via the Epic client.
